Audio-Technica AT2050 Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone
Audio-Technica AT2050 Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone
The Audio-Technica AT2050 multipattern condenser microphone offers a smooth and detailed sound along with a variety of use cases for home-based musicians, vocalists, and project studio engineers. It has three configurable pickup responses, great audio performance, and reliable dependability. The AT2050 is able to deliver omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8 polar patterns because to its dual large-diaphragm condenser capsules, giving it the versatility to handle a range of voice and instrument miking applications. Moreover, the included shockmount reduces superfluous handling and foot noise.
To enhance headroom and capture extremely loud sources up to 159 dB SPL without distortion, turn on the -10 dB pad. Turn on the 80 Hz high-pass filter switch to reduce the lows without using EQ when low-frequency rumble/hum or overpowering bass invade your signal. The AT2050 is a solid-state true condenser with an XLR output, therefore it needs to be connected to a mic preamp with an XLR that can provide 48V phantom power, which is equivalent to anything between 11 and 52 VDC.
Ideal for Home, Studio, or Stage Use
This side-address multipattern condenser mic, designed for crucial home/project studio applications and live performance, provides detailed sonics and minimal noise even after years of use. Whether used on voices, acoustic instruments, drums, or speaker cabinets, the AT2050 is perfect for artists, producers, and recording engineers thanks to its smooth, natural sound.
Three Polar Patterns
The AT2050 is a real externally polarised (DC bias) condenser microphone with two huge gold-vaporized diaphragms and three switchable polar patterns: omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8.
- The omnidirectional polar pattern is perceptive to all types of sound. To capture multiple voices or instruments on a single microphone, to reduce proximity effect, and to maintain the ambient sound of the space, choose the omni pattern.
- The cardioid polar pattern is advantageous for regulating feedback, reducing pickup of extraneous noises, and fostering isolation between performers since it is more sensitive to sound coming from immediately in front of the element.
- The figure-8 polar pattern rejects sounds from the sides of the microphone and is more sensitive to sound coming from the front and back. It frequently works in tandem with sophisticated stereo miking techniques.
Selectable Settings
The AT2050 easily manages high sound pressure levels (up to 159 dB) and avoids the pickup of low-frequency ambient noise (such as traffic, air-handling systems, etc.), room reverberation, and mechanically related vibrations. It is equipped with a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter and a -10 dB pad.
Ready for Daily Use
The AT2050 has a durable design and high-performance features, and it offers consistent performance between models. A customised shockmount and protective pouch are included.
