Sony a7R V Mirrorless Camera (Body Only)
The Sony a7R V Mirrorless Camera is designed for those who value detail by combining resolution and precision. The fifth-generation a7R is reliable and well-rounded for both photography and video applications, with a 61MP full-frame sensor, an all-new AI-based autofocus system with advanced subject recognition, 8K video recording, and 8-stop image stabilisation.
This full-frame 61MP Exmor R CMOS sensor with a back-illuminated design provides incredible resolution with high clarity, low noise, and a wide 15-stop dynamic range. The structure of the sensor promotes impressive image quality, and a copper wiring layer dramatically improves data transmission speed for creating 14-bit, high-resolution 61MP stills with a native sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000, which can be expanded to ISO 50-102400.
A new BIONZ XR processing engine outperforms previous generations by up to 8x, enabling faster overall performance, impressive image quality with wide sensitivity and dynamic ranges, and more fluent processing capable of handling a slew of AI tasks and intelligent AF alongside imaging processes. For the clean rendering of moving subjects, this processing system also reduces rolling shutter and other motion distortions.
In terms of shooting speeds, the sensor and processor enable up to 10 fps full-resolution shooting with a mechanical shutter for up to 583 consecutive compressed raw frames with full-time AF/AE. More than 1000 frames can be recorded in a single burst if only JPEG is used.
The in-body image stabilisation system has been revised for the a7R V to support up to 8 stops of camera shake compensation. This 5-axis stabilisation system combines a high-performance gyro sensor with an optimised algorithm for better shake control and communication between the camera body and lens.
This one-of-a-kind compositing mode enables you to achieve even higher resolution than the 61MP sensor allows. This mode, when combined with sensor-shift image stabilisation, shifts the sensor while taking 16 consecutive exposures to acquire approximately 240.8MP of information for greater colour accuracy and detail than a single exposure, as well as an impressive image size of 19,008 x 12,672 pixels. The Sony Imaging software suite can then be used to merge these files together during post-production.
The a7R V's autofocus benefits greatly from more intelligent subject tracking and recognition capabilities, as well as the dependable hybrid AF system Alpha cameras are known for, thanks to dedicated processing. Real-time Recognition AF works with seven different target types that can be selected.
Human-like tracking of body and head positions for accurate portraiture. The human pose estimation capabilities have also improved real-time Eye AF performance by 60%.
Making use of the high-resolution sensor and fast processing capabilities, UHD 8K 24p and UHD 4K 60p XAVC HS 10-bit video recording is possible using the full width of the sensor with full pixel readout for impressive sharpness and realism.
