StarTech USB 3.0 Video Capture Device
StarTech USB 3.0 Video Capture Device
The StarTech USB 3.0 Video Capture Device connects to your Windows computer via USB 3.0 and enables your Windows PC (including Windows 10) to capture multimedia content from A/V devices like a video camera, security system, POS terminal, and more. It features HDMI, DVI, VGA, S-Video, composite, and component connections that let you record at a frame rate of 60 fps with H.264 encoding. You can then archive the high-definition content in a format that is widely accepted to play on almost any device platform such as Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. In addition to this, you can edit the content as well as create software training and tutorial videos. Included along with the capture device is an easy-to-use software that's compatible with NTSC and PAL systems, making it useful for professional video archiving applications where source media can change from project to project.
The recording of a lossless video at 60 fps ensures every frame of content is saved, unlike 30-frame-per-second capture devices that only catch half the action. Recording a video at 60 fps exactly matches the output of most computer video cards, which is suitable for recording the output from your Windows PC, server, or POS station when creating software training and tutorial videos.
The included software encodes in H.264, the most widely adopted video codec in the world, ensuring your video captures will be compatible with almost any device platform, such as Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android with no editing or converting required. H.264 is also widely supported by most software titles including Adobe Premiere and Windows Media Encoder. Additionally, the software not only lets you capture and export videos, but also lets you take screenshots, schedule recordings, and instantly stream your video source over the Internet using online services.
This USB capture card is capable of capturing lossless raw video, making it compatible with Microsoft DirectShow. With raw video capture, you can record video using your preferred third-party DirectShow software such as Open Broadcaster Software (OBS).
Compatible with a host computer running Windows 10, Windows 8 / 8.1 (32/64-bit), Windows 7 (32/64-bit), Windows Vista (32/64-bit), and Windows XP (32/64-bit).
With multiple A/V input options, you can capture from a wide variety of sources including HDMI, DVI, VGA, and component. You can also use this capture device with A/V adapters to record other video sources such as SDI using StarTech's sold separately SDI to HDMI converter (SDI2HD). Support for a variety of A/V devices makes it suitable for archiving analog video footage into a digital database.
The device also includes easy-to-use software that's compatible with NTSC and PAL systems, making it a must for professional video archiving applications where source media can change from project to project.
