The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI 12G Converter provides a professional solution for converting HDMI video to SDI for broadcast, live production, post-production, and AV installations. It accepts HDMI signals up to DCI 4K 4096 × 2160p and outputs the signal via two independent 12G-SDI outputs, with full SDI re-clocking and low-jitter performance for reliable signal distribution.
Designed for both portable and permanent installations, the compact Teranex Mini can be desktop mounted, concealed in cable ducts, or installed with up to three units in an optional 1RU rack tray. It features full-size XLR audio connections supporting balanced analog or AES/EBU digital audio, while the rear Ethernet connection provides remote control and Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability. A built-in 90–240V power supply further simplifies installation when PoE is not required.
The converter also features an intelligent thermal design with crossflow cooling, internal heat pipe technology, and thermal monitoring to help maintain reliable operation while minimising fan noise. The standard front panel provides quick access to settings via mini switches, while an optional Smart Panel adds an LCD, control buttons, and rotary knob for intuitive configuration and monitoring of video, audio levels, timecode, and video standards. Multiple units can also be managed remotely from Mac or Windows computers using the included Converter Utility software.
