The Urchin windscreens are made to cover lavalier mics placed on the outside of clothing with a clip or other fixture. Each Urchin comes with a lav foam and short-length synthetic fur cover (black, grey or white) for extra wind-noise attenuation. These two layers of wind protection are perfect for interview situations when you must quickly capture audio and don't need to hide the microphones discretely beneath clothing. Urchin lav foams fit almos all small-sized lav mics such as Countryman B3, Sanken COS-11, DPA 4060 and DPA 6060. The fur covers are sized to firmly fit over the included foams and most other foams / metallic screens supplied with lavalier mics. Furs can be used by themselves under clothing to prevent rustling and will be slightly loose fitting if used over micro-diamter lav mics without the included foams.
