PreSonus Quantum HD 8 USB-C Audio Interface
The PreSonus Quantum HD 8 is the culmination of nearly 30 years of design experience, delivering a 26x30 USB-C desktop audio interface built for producers, musicians, and creators who need high-fidelity audio and flexible connectivity for both studio and live environments. With support for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android devices, it provides a highly adaptable recording solution across desktop and mobile workflows.
At its core, the Quantum HD 8 features eight high-definition MAX-HD mic preamps with up to +75 dB of gain, designed for transparent, low-noise performance and compatibility with today’s most popular microphones. Guitarists and bassists benefit from front-facing Hi-Z instrument inputs co-developed with Fender engineers, delivering accurate response tailored specifically for guitar and bass recording. High-performance 32-bit / 192 kHz converters with 124 dB dynamic range ensure exceptional clarity and detail across all inputs and outputs.
Advanced workflow tools such as Auto Gain simplify gain staging by automatically setting optimal input levels for microphones and instruments. Two dedicated reamp outputs allow users to route audio from their DAW through external amps, pedals, and outboard gear for tone shaping and creative experimentation without re-recording takes.
The interface provides flexible monitoring via two balanced TRS main outputs, eight additional balanced TRS line outputs, and dual high-power headphone outputs. Built-in speaker switching makes referencing mixes across multiple monitoring systems fast and convenient.
For expansion, the Quantum HD 8 includes ADAT optical I/O supporting up to 16 additional channels (at 48 kHz), along with stereo S/PDIF connectivity for integration with external digital equipment. A built-in DSP monitor mixer and loopback functionality streamline streaming, podcasting, and custom monitoring setups.
Custom low-latency drivers ensure highly responsive recording performance, while the Universal Control app allows remote adjustment of preamps, phantom power, routing, and gain settings from desktop or mobile devices. A full-color high-resolution display and illuminated encoder provide fast, intuitive hardware control directly on the unit.
The Quantum HD 8 also includes professional recording software, featuring a 12-month Studio One+ subscription and a perpetual license for Studio One Professional Edition, providing a complete production environment from day one.
Key highlights include eight MAX-HD preamps, Fender-designed Hi-Z inputs, 124 dB dynamic range conversion, reamp outputs, ADAT expansion, Auto Gain, loopback streaming support, and full cross-platform control—making it a powerful centerpiece for professional studios and hybrid recording setups.
