The Echo Express SEL Thunderbolt 3 to Low-Profile PCIe Card Expansion System from Sonnet provides a compact way to add a high-performance PCIe card to Thunderbolt 3-equipped notebooks, small-form-factor desktops, and other computers without an internal PCIe slot. It features a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot supporting most low-profile, single-width PCIe 3.0, 2.0, and 1.1 cards up to 6.6" (16.8 cm) in length.
Ideal for expanding professional systems, the Echo Express SEL can accommodate compatible audio interfaces, SAS/SATA HBA, Fibre Channel, 10Gb Ethernet, RAID controller, and video cards, including cards such as the BlueFish 444 Epoch 4K Neutron. Its two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports provide up to 40 Gb/s data transfer, with the second port supporting daisy chaining of up to five additional Thunderbolt peripherals and USB 3.1 connectivity.
The compact 4" wide × 8.4" long × 2.8" high aluminium enclosure provides rugged protection while remaining suitable for space-constrained setups. A temperature-controlled, variable-speed fan provides quiet and efficient cooling for the installed PCIe card and internal components. The system also supports up to two 4K displays at 60 Hz or one 5K display at 60 Hz, while providing up to 15W to bus-powered Thunderbolt devices.
The Echo Express SEL automatically powers on and off with the connected computer and includes a 1.6' (0.5m) Thunderbolt 3 cable and ThunderLok 3 connector retainer clip, helping prevent accidental cable disconnection and potential data loss.
