The Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS is a versatile super-telephoto zoom designed for photographers and videographers capturing wildlife, nature, sports, and other distant subjects. Its 200-600mm range provides substantial reach while the constant internal zoom design helps maintain a comfortable overall length during operation. On APS-C E-mount cameras, it delivers an equivalent 300-900mm range for even greater telephoto reach.

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps reduce the effects of camera shake for sharper handheld images, with three dedicated stabilization modes including settings optimized for panning and viewfinder stabilization. The lens can also be paired with select Sony cameras featuring sensor-shift stabilization for enhanced image stabilization performance. Optional 1.4x and 2x FE teleconverters can further extend its reach.

As a G Series lens, the optical design incorporates five extra-low dispersion elements and a rear aspherical element to help control chromatic and spherical aberrations while maintaining clarity and accurate rendering. Nano AR Coating reduces reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and colour reproduction, while the rounded 11-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth, pleasing bokeh.

Autofocus is driven by Sony's Direct Drive Super Sonic wave Motor (DDSSM) system, providing fast, quiet, and precise focusing for both stills and video. Linear Response manual focus, three customizable focus hold buttons, an AF/MF switch, and a focus range limiter provide tactile control when working with moving subjects. With a 7.9' minimum focusing distance and 0.2x maximum magnification, the lens can also handle closer subjects such as portraits and head shots.

Built for demanding shooting environments, the lens features dust- and moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating on the front element to help repel dust and smudges.
