The Atomos Ninja 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor is a 5.2" on-camera monitor and recorder perfect for your upcoming set because it has an upgraded operating system, HDR monitoring, and RAW recording capabilities. With compatible cameras, this monitor can even record ProRes RAW up to 6K in DCI 4K HDMI. The Ninja has a similar form factor to its predecessors, making it simple to integrate with your current equipment and compatible with most Atomos display attachments.
The AtomOS 11 operating system, designed for the new Ninja, gives your monitor new functions and a better icon interface for easier use. The many display assistance features provided are Focus Peaking, Zoom, Atomos and ARRI False Colour, EL Zone colourised exposure, Safe Areas, RecordAssit, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro, and Cine Guides. Real-time Log to PQ/HLG previewing is possible thanks to the AtomHDR processing engine.
The Ninja's 5.2-inch IPS touchscreen has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1000 cd/m2 brightness for outdoor viewing. Thanks to the 10-bit colour processing, Rec. 709 colour gamut, and Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support, your film will be monitored in a high-quality, colour-accurate fashion.
Select Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon log formats are supported by Ninja. Custom 3D LUTs should be uploaded to the monitor, and HDR should be converted to the Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision formats.
The Ninja may be set up as a standalone system for capturing games in UHD 4K, HDR, and high frame rates. Your gameplay can be recorded, followed, and reviewed immediately for upload to YouTube or other sites.
The Ninja can access cloud processes like C2C, Atomos Edit, and Atomos RemoteView through Atomos Cloud Studio using the separately sold Atomos CONNECT module. The CONNECT module enhances your display interface with 12G-SDI connectivity, AirGlu wireless timecode and control, Wi-Fi 6, and GigE Ethernet. By doing so, you can send video signals via NDI and to specific RTMP/S destinations and live streaming services. Using the CONNECT module, you may also convert video from SDI to HDMI and from HDMI to SDI.
You can turn your Ninja into a portable, feature-rich production studio by using the AtomX CAST. The utilisation of a USB UVC webcam output for improved web conferencing and live streaming, the application of visual overlays, and powerful multi-input switching from four 1080p HDMI inputs are all made possible by this component.
The 2.5" hard drive units from Atomos Master Caddy II and Master Caddy III, which permit direct recording to the drives, are compatible with the Ninja. You can record into small AtomX SSDmini drives and CFAST II cards using a separately sold adapter.
The Ninja's back has an L-series battery plate to accommodate NP-F L-series batteries that provide 5.8 to 7.2V. 30W PD power delivery is supported through a USB-C connector using the supplied cable. Power the monitor using DC power sources using the dummy eliminator included.
