A New Place in the Cinema Line

The biggest change is a next-gen sensor: a 16.6MP 5K fully stacked CMOS compared to the 12MP BSI CMOS of the FX3 and FX6.

The FX3 remains the ultimate handheld compact cinema camera, borrowing heavily from the Alpha series for menus and controls, and retaining a physical shutter and still-image capture (including raw). The FX6, closer to the FX5 in menu and operation, still maintains features expected of a traditional production cinema camera, including SDI connections, more physical controls, a built-in electronic ND filter (versus the FX5's stabilization), and compatibility with Sony's larger BP-U series batteries.
