Expanding Aputure’s tunable white lighting lineup, the compact STORM 400x LED Monolight is a full-spectrum point-source workhorse, designed for high-end production environments. It pairs advanced colour science with robust IP65-rated construction, professional-grade dimming control, and broad compatibility via a Bowens mount—all in a rugged, portable format.
The BLAIR Chip Project
The STORM 400x is built on Aputure’s proprietary BLAIR chipset, a breakthrough five-diode array that incorporates Blue, Lime, Amber, Indigo, and Red LEDs. This design enables higher brightness, improved spectral accuracy, and greater white-point precision. The result is exceptional colour fidelity, with CRI and TLCI ratings of 95 and SSI scores of 87 at both 3200K and 5600K.
Offering a broad CCT range of 2500K to 10,000K with ±G (green-magenta) tint adjustment, the STORM 400x delivers refined white-point control across a wide range of lighting conditions. When paired with its included 35° reflector, it reaches an impressive 64,600 lux at 1 meter (5600K).
Advanced Dimming and Connectivity
The included controller unlocks advanced functionality, including stepless dimming from 0.1% to 100%. The STORM 400x offers flicker-free performance and colour stability even at low output levels, making it suitable for both cinematic and technical applications.
Extensive control options include:
- Wired: 16-bit DMX512, Art-Net, sACN
- Wireless: LumenRadio CRMX, Bluetooth
- App: Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro (iOS & Android)

Thanks to its rugged ProLock-enhanced Bowens S mount, the fixture supports a wide ecosystem of compatible modifiers—ensuring fast setup and secure, optically aligned accessory mounting, even with heavy optical attachments.
