Working in challenging lighting circumstances is made easier by the constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, which also gives you more control over the depth of field. Several aspherical and Ultra-Low Dispersion elements are used in the optical design to drastically reduce the number of aberrations over the zoom range and deliver clean, undistorted imagery. An Air Sphere Coating has been used to reduce flare and ghosting when working in bright illumination.
The Nano USM focus technology, which provides quick, practically silent autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override, balances the distinguished optical assets. Additionally, an image stabiliser may counteract up to five stops of camera shake to help you take crisper handheld pictures in dim circumstances. For simple exposure setting adjustment from the lens itself, a special Control Ring is also incorporated into the lens design. Additionally, this 24-70mm features a fluorine coating and is weather-sealed to guard against the front and back elements.
