The Miller 3769 CX14 Toggle 2-Stage Aluminum Alloy Tripod System with Ground Spreader includes a CX14 fluid head with pan handle, a Toggle 2-stage aluminum alloy tripod with 100mm bowl, a ground spreader, and a soft case. The CX14 fluid head supports up to 30.9 pounds and employs CB Plus technology, providing 15+0 positions of counterbalance, 5+0 levels of pan and tilt settings, and 2.4" of camera plate travel.

The head is matched with the 2-stage Toggle II aluminum alloy tripod, and together the system has a height range of 23.7 to 66.6". The included ground spreader is well suited for use when working on flat surfaces, and its flexible construction allows the tripod to remain stable on uneven terrain. The soft case features a triangular shape and extra-wide opening, and it includes an LW head wrap to protect your tripod. An included shoulder strap helps you carry your tripod system in the bag without occupying your hands.

Miller CX14 Fluid Head

The Miller CX14 Fluid Head is designed to accommodate a wide payload range with 16 steps of counterbalance. The head has a tilt range of +90 to -75°, which allows you to tilt the camera straight down, then nearly straight up. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, for totally free movement of the head, often useful for whip pans. The fluid head accommodates cameras and rigs weighing up to 30.9 pounds, more than adequate for use with small cinema cameras with rigs or medium sized ENG camcorders. The sideload plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera from the top without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 2.4" of sliding range to balance your rig.

The CX14 is die-cast from a lightweight, yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball-bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CX14 will perform reliably. The base of the CX14 is a removable 100mm ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CX14 in dark environments. A fixed length pan handle is included, and an integrated second rosette is available for attaching an optional second pan handle.

With the head mounted level in your tripod legs (not included), you can tilt your camera straight down, and without adjusting the tripod tilt up to nearly straight up and down

The counterbalance settings enable you to tweak the head to neutralize the weight of the camera, so it stays in whatever tilt position you put it in without having to fight against gravity trying to tilt the camera forward or back, or fight against a spring trying to push the camera to level

The pan and tilt axes feature independent locks and drag adjustment

The 100mm ball base provides a wide platform making it easier to balance your camera on the head within the footprint of the head for more stable pan and tilt

The 100mm bowl base is removable, revealing a flat base with a 3/8"-16 threaded hole, well suited for sliders and other flat base applications

Threaded holes on both sides of the heads pan base enable mounting accessory blocks to the head

The unused rosette has a removable cover for protection
Extra camera tie-down screws mount in the top of the camera platform, making them easily available.

The Miller Toggle 2-Stage Alloy Tripod is designed to be a compact yet sturdy platform for your 100mm ball-base fluid head. The 2-stage design allows for a large 15.4 to 61.4" height range while maintaining a compact folded length of 27". Each stage features its own rotary clamp for secure locking, enabling support for payloads up to 55 pounds.

A On-Ground Spreader is chosen when shooting is performed on a level surface, such as studio, city streets, offices, sport fields and stadiums. It allows for rapid set-up and pull down by keeping tripod legs at an equal or preset distance relative to each other. Attaches directly to the feet at the bottom of a tripod and its arms are telescopic to allow extension of a tripod leg without detaching the spreader.
