RODE Boompole (3m)

Great portable pole - easy to pack up and you can run the wires inside the pole :).

Use this with the rode blimp and NTG-3. Its a good length when extended, and folds down - but you have to master the twist/release tighten, it is not obvious, and if you twist the wrong way you can over tighten. It is also quite heavy when extended, so for a long session you need some additional support, or very strong arms. But construction quality is fine, and works reliably.

This RODE pole is very light, well designed and easily adjusted. I especially like that there are cut outs on both ends to run audio cable up the centre of the pole eliminating loose cable that can bang on windy days if not kept tight. On full extension for long periods I just use a waste mounted fishing pole holder

I purchased this to mount a GoPro, for dynamic shots of my kids racing Human powered Vehicles, but I now use it on set (I work in the film industry) to get great high angle location and "making of" shots.

An excellent, professional quality Boompole at the best price I could find for a Boompole of similar quality. I know I will be getting years of use out of this product and so far it has greatly increased my production value
