Shure SM7dB Vocal Microphone with Built-In Preamp

The black Shure SM7dB is an improved model of the SM7B that does not require an inline preamp due to its built-in preamp for a stronger output volume. The original SM7 was a well-liked option for professional audio applications because it provided a smooth, flat, and wide-range frequency response for music and conversation. The SM7dB does the same. A favourite of podcasters and broadcasters, the mic's uniquely designed dynamic capsule offers a polished, smooth vocal sound with a rich response in the lower frequency registers.

The SM7dB offers a cardioid polar pattern, adjustments for midrange emphasis (presence boost), bass roll-off, and broadband interference protection. Internal air suspension shock isolation and a yoke mount make mounting easier and give precise control over the mic position, working together to reduce mechanical noise transfer.

A preamp integrated inside the SM7dB is powered by 48V phantom power. The true-bypass switch allows the preamp to be tuned for +18, +28 dB, or completely deleted from the circuit.

Since the traditional cardioid pickup pattern rejects off-axis audio, you can sing or speak at a natural angle. Additionally, it isolates the signal source and records the sound with the least amount of colouring, which helps to minimise feedback problems.

Better electromagnetic hum rejection—optimised for protecting against computer monitor-generated broadband interference.

Transmission of mechanical noise is essentially eliminated by internal air suspension shock isolation.

Even for close-up singing or narration, the detachable close-talk windscreen eliminates the need for further protection against explosive breath sounds.
