Rode Micro Boompole 3-Section Telescopic Boompole

Useful low budget boom pole. Does the job. Sometimes the sections can get a little sticky so don't twist them too hard when retracting and tightening the sections down! If you're just doing a little bit of booming and want to save some cash this is the boom pole for you.

I use this product for my school and personal film projects. The weight makes it easy to carry around and practical for run and gun filmmaking.

Bought along with a Rode Pro Directional mic for "homebaked" video productions at work as an alternative to an expensive wireless mic set.A lot lighter than I expected, easy to carry and extends nicely to about a metre long. I could film and hold the boom with one hand easily enough. The resulting sound was excellent too.Glad I didn't buy the larger Rode boom. Would have been overkill. This is perfect.The only downside is the lack of clips to make sure the extension cable is kept out of frame. Once or twice I realised the cable was in view.

This boom pole from Rode has a great locking system (better than any I have used so far, some are truly horrible), and is very light. You'll need a soft touch on the grip if you're not using a sprung mic cage, as some handling noise will find it's way onto your track. What I REALLY wanted was a boom pole I could put in my travel tripod bag. This one just doesn't quite fit.
