Shure SLXD24/B58 Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System with Beta 58A Capsule (H58: 520 to 606 MHz) Overview
The Shure SLXD24/B58 Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System provides presenters, performers, and AV professionals with dependable wireless performance, easy setup, and exceptional digital audio quality. Designed for small to medium-sized venues, conference rooms, houses of worship, education facilities, and live event applications, the system combines a rugged SLXD4 single-channel half-rack receiver with an SLXD2 handheld transmitter featuring the legendary Beta 58A microphone capsule.
Operating in the UHF spectrum (H58: 520–606 MHz), the SLX-D system delivers 24-bit digital audio with over 120 dB of dynamic range, providing clear, detailed sound with excellent transient response. Digital Predictive Switching Diversity continuously monitors RF performance and switches between antennas before signal issues occur, helping maintain reliable transmission with minimal dropouts. With 3.2 ms low latency, selectable RF output power, and support for up to 32 compatible microphone channels, SLX-D is an ideal solution for scalable wireless installations and portable production systems.
The included SLXD2 handheld transmitter features a durable aluminium housing, lightweight design, and interchangeable capsule compatibility, allowing users to customise the microphone for different applications. The included Beta 58A dynamic supercardioid capsule is optimised for vocals, offering a focused pickup pattern, high gain before feedback, excellent off-axis rejection, and controlled proximity effect. The interchangeable capsule design also supports a wide range of Shure microphone capsules, including SM58, Beta 87A, and KSM8 options.
The transmitter provides selectable 1 mW or 10 mW RF output power, infrared synchronisation with the receiver, and up to 8 hours of operation using AA batteries or the optional Shure SB903 rechargeable lithium-ion battery. When paired with compatible charging accessories, the rechargeable battery system provides convenient battery management with accurate remaining runtime information displayed in hours and minutes.
The SLXD4 receiver features a robust metal half-rack chassis suitable for portable rack systems or permanent installations. Its intuitive front-panel LCD provides clear monitoring of RF signal strength, audio levels, battery status, and system settings. Automatic frequency scanning quickly identifies the cleanest available channel, while IR sync makes transmitter setup fast and simple. The receiver includes XLR balanced mic/line output, 1/4" TRS output, up to 60 dB of gain adjustment, and Ethernet networking for coordinated frequency management across multiple receivers.
For larger installations, SLX-D systems can be expanded and managed through Ethernet networking, allowing coordinated frequency scans, system monitoring, and integration with third-party control systems such as AMX and Crestron. Optional antenna accessories, including active and passive antenna solutions and antenna distribution systems, can further extend range and improve RF reliability.
With professional audio quality, reliable RF performance, flexible expansion options, and simple operation, the Shure SLXD24/B58 is an excellent wireless solution for presentations, live performances, corporate events, education, and installed AV environments.
