Delivering pristine 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio, reliable RF performance, and advanced security features, it is ideal for live performances, corporate events, houses of worship, theatres, and professional presentation environments.

The ULXD2/B87A comes fitted with the Shure Beta 87A supercardioid condenser microphone capsule, providing a smooth, detailed vocal response with excellent off-axis rejection to minimise background noise and reduce feedback. Designed to handle high sound pressure levels up to 140 dB SPL, the capsule delivers consistent performance for vocalists, presenters, and performers. Its interchangeable capsule design also allows users to easily swap to other compatible Shure capsules, including the SM58, SM86, SM87A, Beta 58A, Beta 87C, and KSM9 options, to suit different applications.

Featuring a rugged yet lightweight aluminium housing, the ULXD2/B87A provides dependable performance in demanding professional environments. It supports AES 256-bit encryption for secure wireless transmission and offers selectable 1, 10, or 20 mW RF output power, allowing users to optimise operating range or increase the number of simultaneous wireless channels.

The transmitter offers fast and simple setup with infrared synchronisation to compatible ULX-D receivers, while Shure Proprietary Gain Ranging automatically adjusts input levels to eliminate the need for manual transmitter gain settings. The power button doubles as a mute switch while maintaining RF lock, and frequency/power lockout functions help prevent accidental changes during events.

A backlit LCD display provides quick access to essential settings, including frequency, group and channel information, mute status, lock status, RF output power, and remaining battery life. With a wide tuning range and flexible power options, the ULXD2/B87A is designed for scalable wireless systems requiring exceptional audio quality and reliability.

Power options include two AA batteries providing up to 11 hours of operation, or the optional Shure SB900B rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, offering intelligent battery management, accurate remaining runtime display, and over 8 hours of operation. External charging contacts allow convenient dock charging with compatible SBC200 and network-enabled SBC220 charging systems, with remote battery monitoring available through Shure Wireless Workbench software.
