The SmallRig 5953 “HawkLock” Quick Release Half Cage is a lightweight yet highly robust rigging solution designed for the Canon EOS R6 Mark III, EOS R6 Mark II, and EOS R5 Mark II. The half-cage securely mounts to the camera using a bottom 1/4"-20 screw, a locating pin, and a side locating block, with integrated silicone padding to prevent scratches and ensure a stable, form-fitting connection. Despite its protective design, it preserves full access to all essential camera controls, including buttons, ports, the flip screen, card slots, and battery compartment, making it ideal for fast-paced shooting environments.

At the core of its design is SmallRig’s patented “HawkLock” quick release system, enabling one-touch, tool-free mounting and removal of accessories. The bidirectional self-locking mechanism allows rapid workflow transitions without the need for additional tightening, significantly improving efficiency on set.

The cage offers extensive expansion capability through H21 NATO rails positioned on the top and both sides, allowing quick attachment of compatible top handles, monitor mounts, and articulating arms.
