The SmallRig "HawkLock" Cage for Sony FX5 (6776) is a lightweight and versatile camera cage designed to protect the Sony FX5 while providing extensive accessory mounting options for professional filmmaking, broadcast, and content creation workflows. Featuring a modular design, the cage combines a NATO rail and U-shaped cage structure to provide secure camera protection, improved handling, and flexible rig expansion.
The U-shaped cage attaches securely to the camera using 1/4"-20 screws on both sides and the bottom, creating a stable, anti-twist mounting solution. Integrated protective cushions at camera contact points help prevent scratches, while the hinged battery door arm follows the camera body’s contours to provide improved support and comfort for the user's little finger during handheld operation.
A dedicated HDMI cable clamp helps protect the camera's HDMI interface and maintain reliable signal transmission during shooting. The cage also features SmallRig’s patented HawkLock quick-release system, incorporating the NATO rail and Arca-Swiss plate for faster accessory installation and removal. When used with compatible HawkLock accessories, such as the Top Handle 4483, Side Handle 4485, and Arca-Swiss Clamp 4486, accessories can slide into position smoothly and automatically lock securely. The system also remains compatible with traditional NATO clamps, cold shoe accessories, and Arca-Swiss ecosystem accessories.
For professional rig expansion, the cage includes multiple mounting options including 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 1/4"-20 locating holes, 3/8"-16 ARRI locating holes, a QD socket, and a strap slot. These mounting points support a wide range of accessories including magic arms, top handles, rod clamps, QD shoulder straps, hand straps, and shoulder straps.
