The SmallRig "HawkLock" Cage Kit for Sony FX5 & XLR Handle (6777) is a professional camera support solution designed to protect the Sony FX5 while enhancing handheld operation and expanding accessory mounting capabilities. Developed specifically for use with the Sony FX5 and XLR Handle (XLR-H2), the kit improves camera handling, stability, and rig flexibility for cinema, broadcast, documentary, and professional video production.

The included XLR handle extension features an ergonomic design that improves grip comfort and increases the strength of the original XLR top handle, providing a more secure and comfortable operating experience while allowing additional accessories to be mounted. The integrated hand strap further improves stability and safety during handheld shooting, helping reduce fatigue during extended production sessions.

A dedicated HDMI cable clamp protects the camera’s HDMI interface while maintaining a secure connection for reliable signal transmission. The cage incorporates SmallRig’s patented HawkLock quick-release system, featuring a NATO rail and Arca-Swiss plate that work with HawkLock ecosystem accessories such as the Magic Arm 4490, Side Handle 4485, and Arca-Swiss Clamp 4486. The system allows accessories to slide into position smoothly and automatically lock securely, improving the speed and efficiency of setup changes. It also remains compatible with traditional cold shoe accessories, NATO clamps, and Arca-Swiss accessories.

The cage provides extensive accessory expansion options with built-in 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 1/4"-20 locating holes, 3/8"-16 ARRI locating holes, a QD socket, and a strap slot. These mounting points support a wide range of professional accessories, including magic arms, rod clamps, QD shoulder straps, and shoulder straps for customised rig configurations.

A built-in magnetic wrench provides convenient access for quick assembly and adjustments on set. Note:

• Compatible hot shoe accessories when using the top plate include Sony ECM-B1M, ECM-M1, ECM-B10, and DJI Mic 2 hot shoe adapter. Sony ECM-W3, ECM-W3S, and ECM-W2BT microphones are not compatible.

• When using the Sony XLR Handle (XLR-H2) or Sony EVF (DVF-EL1), the top plate must be removed first.
