The SmallRig "HawkLock" Handheld Cage Kit for Sony FX5 (6778) is a versatile camera support solution designed to protect the Sony FX5 while providing extensive accessory mounting options and improved handheld shooting performance. Featuring a modular design, the kit combines a top mounting plate with a U-shaped cage structure to support flexible configurations for different production scenarios.

Each cage component is secured at two or more mounting points to provide a stable, anti-twist connection, while integrated protective pads at camera contact points help prevent scratches and protect the camera body. The ergonomic top handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, attaches quickly via the NATO clamp, and features an enclosed design to help prevent accidental drops during low-angle shooting.

A dedicated HDMI cable clamp protects the camera’s HDMI port and helps maintain stable signal transmission during operation. The included ergonomic wrist strap improves handling security while reducing wrist strain during extended handheld shooting sessions.

The cage provides extensive accessory expansion through multiple mounting interfaces, including 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 1/4"-20 locating holes, 3/8"-16 threaded holes, ARRI locating holes, a NATO rail, an Arca-type quick release plate, a QD socket, and a wrist strap slot. These mounting options support a wide range of professional accessories such as monitors, microphones, magic arms, handles, and other production equipment.

The integrated bottom Arca-type quick-release plate allows direct mounting onto DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro, RS 5 stabilisers, as well as Arca-compatible tripods, enabling fast transitions between handheld, gimbal, and tripod shooting setups.

A built-in magnetic wrench provides convenient access for quick assembly and adjustments on set. Note:

• Compatible hot shoe accessories when using the top plate include Sony ECM-B1M, ECM-M1, ECM-B10, and DJI Mic 2 hot shoe adapter. Sony ECM-W3, ECM-W3S, and ECM-W2BT microphones are not compatible.

• When using the Sony XLR Handle (XLRH2B) or Sony EVF (DVFEL1B), the top plate must be removed first.
