The Blackmagic Design Streaming Encoder 4K is a powerful, self-contained solution that streams high-quality video via SRT or RTMP protocols in H.264 or H.265 formats. It supports direct streaming to a wide variety of compatible services and software, such as Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Restream.IO, Vimeo, BoxCast, Castr, AfreecaTV, Bilibili, DouYu, Weibo, Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, QuickTime Player, FaceTime, OBS Studio, Open Broadcaster, VLC, Wirecast Play, and Wowza Streaming Engine.
The encoder offers multiple connection options for streaming, including a built-in RJ45 Ethernet port supporting 10/100/1000BASE-T for wired streaming and USB-C connectivity for tethering to high-speed 5G or 4G phones, ensuring flexible connectivity in various environments.
The encoder is equipped with 12G-SDI connectivity for video input, supporting up to DCI 4K60 resolutions via an SDI input, complemented by an SDI loop output. Additionally, it provides SDI and HDMI monitor outputs for real-time monitoring. The encoder’s 2.2" LCD screen allows users to easily monitor video, audio, status, and menu settings. At the same time, the rear-panel USB-C port can connect the device as a webcam to a computer.
The front panel includes six tactile buttons and a spin knob for easy control, making it user-friendly for live production settings. Power options include 100-240 VAC and 12 VDC 4-pin XLR connections, providing flexibility in how the unit is powered.
